Meet Our New Reviewer:~ Helen

Today we would like to introduce you to our new reviewer, Helen. We are rather excited to have Helen as part of the Midnight Reads team. So I think without further ado we should get right to it and learn a little bit more about Helen:~

The Sugar Queen
The Sugar Queen

What is your favourite book?
The sugar Queen by Sarah Addison Allen

Who is your favourite author?
Jane Austin

What do you get up to when not reading?
I am a HUGE West Wing fan! I am currently working my way through series 5! And from this I have a newly fuelled interest in American Politics, Obama for 2012!

I love going to gigs! I am obsessed with Florence and the Machine and will be going to see her in March! EXCITED!

What made you want to start reviewing YA books?
Like Bungle and Sally I read a lot of books with a wide variety of genres; however I always seem to gravitate back to YA books. For me they are escapism, I was a shy teenager and I found, and still find I can relate to Characters in this genre. I wanted to start reviewing because when in discussion with my friends about the books we have all read I discovered I had a voice, and that I wanted it to be heard. If I read one amazing book and influence one person to read that book I will be happy, because like Walt Disney said “There is more treasure in books than in all the pirate's loot on Treasure Island.” :)

Helen's first review will be posted today!
