I was asked to read and review debut author Mary Ting's young adult novel CROSSROADS, and I can't explain how much I love this story. Author Mary Ting began writing CROSSROADS based off a dream she had and the story took off from there. With my love for the paranormal I was happy to read something new to me within the genre. CROSSROADS is a paranormal romance that involves Angels. They story created around these angels pulls the reader deep into the world of the protagonist Claudia and even when finished you are left wanting more.

Mary Ting has done a wonderful job of building her characters, the story, and a beautiful romance that most of us can only dream of. I found myself waiting on baited breathe for the next shoe to drop or the next romantic encounter. This talented new author is sure to make a mark in the world of young adult story telling. Her publisher World Castle Publishing is very lucky to have found such natural talent and good sense of the age group and genre. I look forward to her follow-up novel BETWEEN which is expected some time in 2012.

Embrace yourself in Immortal Embrace by Charlotte Blackwell. This heartwarming story will pull you right in from chapter one. I was quickly drawn to Sophia, the protagonist and her vampire family. Blackwell beautifully creates a story of loss and love, and you will wish you could be part of their family and even when finished, I needed more of their world. Thank goodness there is the sequel, Forbidden Embrace. The story continues. I flew through the pages again. I wanted to jump inside the book and spend the day with these characters that I’ve grown to love. Soon to come, Mystic Embrace.



Charlotte Blackwell


Charlotte Blackwell has done an amazing job creating her characters, making them real to the reader. Her descriptions are perfect, allowing the reader to see everything, yet leaving little to the imagination. There are many vampire stories out there, but the uniqueness of the story and likeable characters captures your heart that you feel like you are part of their family. The Embrace series is a paranormal romance you will love to sink your teeth into.

Winter Warmers Event~ Taryn Browning's debut author of 2011 is Michelle Madow

Today author Taryn Browning tells us why Michelle Madow's Remembrance has stood out for her this year.

As soon as I saw the cover, I had to read REMEMBRANCE by Michelle Madow. The cover is one of the most beautiful covers I've ever seen and the story is just as gorgeous. The mask draws you in, but the words, characters and storyline keep you wanting more. I loved it! Madow has created a captivating romance between lovers across time with a unique twist on reincarnation and the fate of finding true love for the second time in another lifetime – even when it ended tragically the first time.





Michelle Madow

  Inspired by Taylor Swift's Love Story video, the protagonist, Lizzie, has been reincarnated from Regency Era, England but is unaware of her past life. She doesn’t understand why she feels so connected to the new guy, Drew, especially since she already has a boyfriend – who happens to be quite controlling. Readers will find Lizzie down-to-earth and relatable. She is very likeable and someone I would have loved to be friends with in high school. I rooted for Lizzie and Drew from the very first chapter, even when it appeared as if they’d never be together.




 As for Drew - well, he is totally gorgeous, and not just on the outside. He struggles with his feelings for Lizzie and it shows through his actions. Whether he is doing everything to push her away, dating her best friend, or giving into his feelings, Drew is downright swoon-worthy and I can’t wait to read more about him and his past life.



Taryn Browning


I definitely recommend Madow's debut novel to any age, pre-teen through adult. It is an amazing love story that will tug at your heart and keep you wondering what is going to happen next. It’s a must read. I look forward to delving deeper into Lizzie and Drew’s pasts, including the complications that test relationships, fate, life and even death, in the upcoming books in the TRANSCEND TIME Saga.
